Sergio Ramos reflected on his return to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium defending Sevilla, after 16 years at Real Madrid, admitting that he will have a special feeling of being "at home", which will lead him to not celebrate if he scores a goal out of respect for Real Madrid fans.

"I'm going to feel at home. In the end, I've spent many years there, they've been the most important moments of my career, and I have wonderful memories of the people, the fans, and my teammates. It's going to be a unique and very emotional moment for me," Ramos said in an interview with DAZN four days before the match.

"I have a lot of respect for all the fans and for Real Madrid. I wouldn't celebrate [a goal] but if I have to score and it helps us win, I'd be delighted because those three points would be very important for us," he added.

Ramos is aware of the difficulty of the match for Sevilla against the league leaders, Real Madrid, who approach the game after drawing in Vallecas and having a week without matches.

"Real Madrid is always the favorite to win everything. They're in a good moment, leading the league, and have players of extraordinary magnitude and quality. We know very well the ground we're going to step on, and we'll try in one way or another to have a good game there," he said.

And he recalled how close they were in the first leg at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. "We played Madrid head-to-head, we had chances to win. Kepa made a very good save from my header that would have given us the victory. When the team is compact, we're all together, we play with good intensity, and we press high, we're a guerrilla team."

Ramos didn't reveal his plans for next season, proud of the decision he made to return to Sevilla after his adventure at PSG.

"When you make a decision from the heart, you never go wrong. Today, I'm happy here and I don't think about what might happen tomorrow. I try to train well every day, and as long as I wake up with the same joy, who knows, maybe next year I'll still be here or I'll feel like leaving," he acknowledged.

"When that time comes, I'll see what decision I'll make, but having passed through my home has been a privilege, wearing the Sevilla badge again, the club that formed me, saw me grow, and made me a man in football. The experience has been wonderful," he concluded.
