Real Madrid Still Owes Money for Hazard
Even though Eden Hazard is no longer with Real Madrid, his transfer continues to make headlines—or in this case, it continues to bring money to Chelsea, as Real Madrid still owes money from the transfer fee of the former Blues player.
The Belgian's transfer to the Madrid team was handled in a package of $165 million plus an extra $50 million in performance-related variables. The British outlet The Telegraph reported: "Chelsea will receive an additional bonus of six million dollars, thanks to Real Madrid reaching the Champions League final."
Hazard announced his retirement from the pitch last summer after playing only 10 matches with one goal and one assist in total during that season, leaving very little impact in his time in the Spanish capital and still costing Real Madrid even after his departure.
