According to reports from Argentina, Boca decided not to include Cavani in the squad solely to give him rest due to the accumulation of minutes he has been enduring in recent matches.
This decision was made in light of the fact that the Uruguayan had already suffered a muscle injury in early April and has played more than 70 minutes in each of the last three games, including the victory against River Plate in the Copa.
Boca's intention is to keep him fresh and in top form for the upcoming matches, including the Copa de la Liga semifinals and the final matches of the Copa Sudamericana, where the Buenos Aires team will determine their qualification.
