River Plate secured an important 1-2 away victory against one of the toughest opponents in Group H of the Copa Libertadores, Paraguayan side Libertad, in a match where the visitors were at times under pressure against a home team eager for a win. The goals for the victory were scored by Pablo Solari and 16-year-old Franco Mastantuono. Matías Espinoza scored for the hosts.

The first half was characterized by high intensity from River, who kept attacking, but gradually Libertad's strength also became evident. It wasn't until the 34th minute when Pablo Solari broke the deadlock for the visitors; however, minutes later Matías Espinoza leveled the score at 1-1 in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Libertad and River Plate maintained parity, but one of El Millonario's gems, 16-year-old Franco Mastantuono, found the back of the net in the 80th minute, sealing not only a dream debut but also a crucial victory for his team.

With this win, River takes the lead in Group H with nine points, while Libertad sits in third place with three points.
