Quest for Semifinalists in Copa Libertadores
The hosts have scored in each of their nine Libertadores contests this season. Bolívar, meanwhile, are scoreless in their last 194 minutes in the competition.

For Racing Club, advancing to the semifinals of the premier continental tournament would mean going back to 1997, the last time the Avellaneda team reached that stage of the competition. Back then, after eliminating Uruguayan side Peñarol in the quarterfinals, they fell to Peruvian side Sporting Cristal in the semifinals.
For Boca Juniors, it would confirm that this could be their year, bringing them closer to their seventh Copa Libertadores title and potentially equalling the 'King of Cups', the Argentine club Independiente, whose record has stood since 1984.
Their semifinal berth is not too far off. After the memorable final in 2018, in which they lost to their eternal rival, River Plate, Boca reached the penultimate round in 2019 and 2020 (the latter postponed to the beginning of 2021 due to the pandemic), but it's clear that their dream lies one step further.
Palmeiras vs. Deportivo Pereira
Palmeiras has its spot in the semifinals secured for the fourth consecutive year. They will host Colombian side Deportivo Pereira in the second leg of the quarterfinals in São Paulo, with Pereira needing a miracle to stay alive in the tournament.

Following the thrashing they delivered last week in the first leg in Colombia, Palmeiras only needs a draw or a victory by any scoreline at home to advance. They could even advance while losing by up to three goals.
Palmeiras' Portuguese coach, Abel Ferreira, refuses to rest some of his key players due to his lack of confidence in the significant lead and his priority of reaching the semifinals for the fourth consecutive time and winning the continental title once again, which they lifted in 2020 and 2021.
However, the São Paulo team is also prioritizing the Brazilian Championship, where they stand second, eleven points behind the leader Botafogo, as they aim to retain the title they won last year.
