CONMEBOL Has Rescheduled Postponed Matches From The Libertadores and Sudamericana Due to Floods
CONMEBOL has announced the rescheduling of two Copa Libertadores and two Copa Sudamericana matches that were postponed recently due to heavy rains and flooding in southern Brazil.
The CONMEBOL Competitions and Operations Directorate confirmed that the Libertadores match between Huachipato and Brazilian side Gremio will now take place on June 4 at the Huachipato Stadium in the Chilean city of Talcahuano at 8:00 PM ET.
The encounter between the two teams from Group C for matchday four couldn't be played and was postponed due to the state of emergency declared on May 2 by Rio Grande do Sul, following intense rains that virtually isolated the capital, Porto Alegre.
Additionally, Gremio, currently bottom of the group with three points, will face Estudiantes de La Plata on June 8 at a venue yet to be determined.
Regarding the Copa Sudamericana, CONMEBOL has rescheduled the Group C match between Brazil's Internacional and Real Tomayapo for June 4 at the IV Centenario Stadium in the Bolivian city of Tarija, at 8:30 PM ET.
Similarly, Internacional will play against Delfín from Ecuador on June 8, although the venue has not been announced yet.
