Boca Juniors Advance to Copa Libertadores Semifinals with Penalty Shootout Victory
The Xeneize team is now the only representative from Argentina still alive in the continental competition.
Boca Juniors qualified for the Copa Libertadores semifinals, where Palmeiras awaits, by defeating Racing 1-4 in a penalty shootout away from home after both legs of the quarterfinals ended in goalless draws.
Minutes earlier, the Brazilian team secured their qualification with a goalless draw at home against Deportivo Pereira, which was beaten 0-4 in Colombian territory eight days prior.
Goalkeeper Sergio Romero stood out by stopping two penalty shots during the shootout.
