Kane Overtakes Mbappé in Their Fierce Golden Boot Battle
The Bayern Munich striker takes the lead in the race to be Europe's top scorer.
Following PSG's break in Ligue 1 to compete in the Champions League semifinals, Bayern Munich's British striker, Harry Kane, has edged ahead of Kylian Mbappé in the battle to be Europe's top scorer.
This weekend, during Bayern Munich's 3-1 defeat to Stuttgart, Harry Kane once again found the net (from the penalty spot), further boosting his bid to become the next "goal king" in European football. With this, the Briton reached a tally of 44 goals scored this season across all competitions for the German outfit.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé is not far behind and remains in the hunt, holding a total of 43 goals and several games still to play. Both players will contest the Champions League semifinals with a slight difference: Mbappé will play at home against Borussia Dortmund, while Bayern will visit Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
