Karim Benzema Asks for Help to Succeed at Al-Ittihad
After leaving Real Madrid and heading to Al-Ittihad, Karim Benzema has had a tough time, going four months without scoring a goal during this period and missing games under Marcelo Gallardo’s leadership.
The Frenchman spoke in an interview with the Saudi media Asharq Al-Awsat about his performance and future.
“I’m not the same Benzema from Real Madrid because it’s not the same situation, not the same players,” the French striker said.
Talking about the reasons for the lack of success, he clarified, “I need help on the field, I need many things. I can’t win games alone,” Benzema affirmed.
In terms of statistics, Karim Benzema has played in 19 games in the Saudi Pro League, missing seven matches. In the Asian Champions League, he was only in three out of 10 games and in both matches of the Club World Cup, missing a total of 16 games with just 12 goals and eight assists.
Discussing his future, he commented, “We’ll see. For me, the most important thing is here for now. We’ll see what happens in the future,” Karim Benzema concluded. Can the Frenchman reach the level that earned him a Ballon d’Or?
