Boxer Dies in His First Professional Fight
Sherif Lawal, a British boxer, passed away in his debut professional bout at the age of just 29. This occurred after the boxer received a blow from boxer Malam Varela.
The 29-year-old boxer collapsed after being struck on the temple by Varela. The incident took place at the Harrow Leisure Centre in London. Following this, the referee began the knockout count, but then realized the blow had been much more severe.
Subsequently, the attending doctors entered the ring, where they performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on Lawal for more than 10 minutes. Ultimately, Lawal was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
