U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter has selected the 27 players for the USMNT June Training Camp Roster, presented by Marriott Bonvoy. The group will begin reporting May 28 to the Washington, D.C. area.

Ahead of the prestigious 2024 Copa America, the USMNT will face red-hot Colombia on June 8 in the Summer Showdown, presented by Marriott Bonvoy. Kickoff from Commanders Field in Landover, Md., is set for 5:37 p.m. ET. 

On June 12, the Allstate Continental Clásico pits the United States against five-time World Cup champion Brazil at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Action begins at 7:37 p.m. ET.

The Allstate Continental Clásico is an annual event that features the USMNT hosting a top-tier opponent from North, Central or South America.

Following the friendlies, Berhalter will select the final roster for Copa America. Per tournament rules, the roster must be a minimum of 23 players with a maximum of 26 total. Teams are required to submit their final list no later than June 15.

“This summer presents an opportunity for us to progress and grow as a team as we continue to build towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” Berhalter said. “We have a talented group of players and are excited about the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the world.”

CLUB ACHIEVEMENTS

Many of the players are bringing the ‘Big Mo(mentum)” into camp following achievements at their clubs this season. Cameron Carter-Vickers (Celtic) and the duo of Ricardo Pepi and Malik Tillman (PSV) enter with league championship titles to their credit, while Weston McKennie and Tim Weah hoisted the Coppa Italia trophy with Juventus.

Meantime, a total of nine players are currently on clubs who will participate in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League: Folarin Balogun (Monaco), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Celtic), Weston McKennie and Tim Weah (Juventus), Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic (AC Milan), Ricardo Pepi and Malik Tillman (PSV), and Gio Reyna who will return to Borussia Dortmund after a half-season loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

AGAINST LOS CAFETEROS

The USA and Colombia’s 21st clash all-time will take place outside the nation’s capital. Los Cafeteros are currently red-hot, riding a 21-match unbeaten streak which includes a 1-0 win against No. 8-ranked Spain in the last March window.

Colombia currently sits in third place in South American qualifying for the 2026 World Cup with an unblemished 3-0-3 record. This summer, Colombia will aim to build on a third-place finish at the last Copa América and secure its second title after topping the podium on home soil in 2001.

The U.S. is 3-13-5 all-time vs. Colombia as the nations will face off for the first time since January 2023, a 0-0 draw. Meeting at the conclusion of the USMNT’s annual January camp, the scoreless tie saw four players earn their first caps, including Vitesse forward Paxten Aaronson. The USA and Colombia faced off twice at the 2016 Copa América Centenario in the United States, with the U.S. falling 2-0 in the group stage in Santa Clara, Calif. and a narrow 1-0 defeat in the Third-Place Match in Glendale, Ariz.

The USMNT is looking to earn its first victory against Colombia since March 2005, a 3-0 win in Fullerton, Calif. One of the USMNT’s most memorable World Cup victories came against Colombia in Southern California during the 1994 World Cup, a 2-1 win at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena featuring a goal from former U.S. Soccer Sporting Director Earnie Stewart.

AGAINST THE SELEÇÃO

One of international soccer’s most successful teams, Brazil will provide a true test for the USA ahead of the 2024 Copa América. The USMNT is 1-18-0 against the Seleção all-time, the lone victory coming during the 1998 Concacaf Gold Cup, a 1-0 triumph as Brazil competed in the region’s continental championship as a guest nation. Goalkeeper Kasey Keller put in a legendary performance in Los Angeles, making 10 stops against Brazil’s vaunted attack while Preki netted the game-winning goal in the second half.

The nations last met in Sept. 2018, a 2-0 loss for the U.S. in East Rutherford, N.J., while the all-time series dates back to 1930. Brazil has won the Copa America nine times and was drawn into Group D alongside Colombia, Costa Rica and Paraguay.
