Mané Leads Senegal's Squad For The Africa Cup Of Nations
Senegal, one of Africa's top national teams, has announced its complete 27-player squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11.
Managed by Aliou Cissé since 2015, Senegal aims for a second consecutive championship after clinching their first title in the previous edition (2021), where they defeated Mohamed Salah's Egypt in the final through a penalty shootout.
Having reached the Round of 16 in the Qatar World Cup (falling 0-3 to England), "The Lions of Teranga" seek to maintain their good form with a roster of outstanding players.
Leading the lineup is the team's star, Sadio Mané, currently playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Mané returns to a national tournament after missing the World Cup due to an injury just months before its kickoff.
Other key players for Senegal include defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Al Hilal, Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham and Youssouf Sabaly from Real Betis.
