Juan Lebrón and Alejandro Galán Have Advanced to the Semifinals in the Acapulco Premier Padel Tournament
The Spanish duo reached the semifinals of the GNP México P1 paddle tournament in Acapulco, which will be their last tournament together following their recent announcement of parting ways. They secured their spot in the semis by defeating Miguel Yanguas and Javi Garrido with a score of 6-4 and 6-2.
This victory marked a revenge for them as they had previously lost to Yanguas and Garrido in Qatar after a tense match. After the game, Lebrón took off his shirt and showed his name to the opponents across the net, exchanging a few words with them afterward.
Their opponents in the semifinals will be Martín Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk, the pair ranked just below them at number three, after defeating 'Coki' Nieto and Jon Sanz in three sets (6-4, 4-6, and 6-0) in just over two hours.
On the other side of the bracket, the top favorites, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, lived up to expectations and remain in competition by defeating Fede Chingotto and 'Momo' González with a score of 6-1 and 6-2. They will now face 'Paquito' Navarro and 'Sanyo' Gutiérrez, who defeated Eduardo Alonso and Alejandro Arroyo (6-0 and 6-4).
In the women's category, Virginia Riera and Sofía Araujo, the sixth seeds, advanced to the semifinals by defeating Ana Catarina Nogueira and Beatriz Caldera with a score of 6-4 and 6-2. They will face Alejandra Alonso and Andrea Ustero, who won against Aranza Osoro and Carmen Goenaga (6-2 and 6-2).
The other pair in the final will come from the match between Delfi Brea and Bea González and Jess Castelló and Claudia Jensen. The former defeated Lucía Sainz and Patty Lallguno with a score of 6-2 and 6-3, while the latter did the same against Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernández (6-7, 6-2, and 6-2).
