Ki-Jana Carter hails from Westerville, Ohio where he was a high school All-American in football. Carter then took his talents to Nittanyville to attend Pennsylvania State University.
During his time at Penn State, Carter had much success in three seasons playing for the Nittany Lions. During the 1994-95 season, Carter reached the peak of his collegiate career rushing for 1,539 yards and 23 rushing touchdowns. After a stellar campaign, Carter was voted a Consensus All-American and came in second for the Heisman Trophy that same season. As the focal point of an explosive offense that included the likes of fellow Heisman finalist, Kerry Collins,and star wide receiver, O.J. McDuffie, Carter helped lead PSU to an undefeated season, topped off by winning the 1995 Rose Bowl and being voted the Rose Bowl MVP.
Carter was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the first overall pick of the 1995 NFLDraft. After spending his four seasons with the Bengals, he went on to play for the WashingtonRedskins and the New Orleans Saints during the span of his seven-year career.
