The NFL Confirms Game At Santiago Bernabéu
The NFL officially announced that the Santiago Bernabéu will host a regular-season game in 2025. This was confirmed by Peter O’Reilly, Executive Vice President of the league, alongside Emilio Butragueño, during a press conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada, the venue for Super Bowl LVIII.
The Spanish capital will now join a list of alternate venues outside the United States such as Mexico City, Munich, Frankfurt, and soon Sao Paulo.
The owners of the NFL's 32 franchises endorsed the league's international expansion strategy last December, aiming to organize up to nine games overseas by 2025.
It has not yet been confirmed, but the historic game at Real Madrid's stadium could be contested by either the Miami Dolphins or the Chicago Bears, with the Florida team having a slight advantage as they would have one more game on their schedule. Specific details regarding this will be made official when the organization of the season and its dates are announced.
