Froome focused on Paris
Tour de France leader Chris Froome is fully focused on reaching Paris in yellow rather than letting the "sideshow" distract him.
Chris Froome will not allow the Tour de France "sideshow" to distract him from claiming a second yellow jersey on the Champs-Elysees on Sunday.
The Team Sky rider – who holds a three minute and 10 second lead with five days to go – has had his performances questioned by French television during the race and also had a cup of urine thrown at him by a spectator.
Race director Christian Prudhomme has criticised the treatment of Froome during this year's race, while the 30-year-old is keen to put the incidents behind him and focus on claim a second Tour success.
"All that [the comments and spectator incident] has been going on in the sidelines and it really has been more like a sideshow than anything else," said the Briton.
"My focus has been on the race and I think the racing has shown that. Nothing is going to throw me off in that regard.
"This is the dream position to be four racing stages away from the Champs-Elysees with a decent advantage over most of my rivals.
"I am in yellow, I have a fantastic team around me. Nothing is going to distract from that."
Froome will look to maintain his overall advantage on Wednesday when the race resumes after a rest day with a 161-kilometre stage from Digne-les-Bains to Pra Loup.
