Broad hopes 300-club dreams materialise at Trent Bridge
Stuart Broad says it will be a "dream come true" if he reaches 300 Test wickets for England on his home ground of Trent Bridge.
Stuart Broad is thrilled at the prospect of claiming his 300th Test wicket when the fourth Ashes Test gets under way at Trent Bridge later this week.
Broad will be expected to lead the England attack on his home ground in Nottingham after James Anderson was ruled out of the fourth Test with a side strain suffered at Edgbaston.
Broad's three scalps in the eight-wicket success in Birmingham took him to 299 Test victims, one away from joining just four other men to reach the 300 landmark for England.
With England 2-1 up in the five-match series, Broad is dreaming of both individual and collective success as the hosts search for the victory that will regain the urn and go some way to easing the pain of a 5-0 whitewash Down Under in 2013-14.
"I love being here, it's a great place to play, I love playing here for Notts and I love playing here for England," Broad said.
"I don't want to look too far ahead to 300 wickets as it will take me away from the process. But it would be a dream come true to get it at Trent Bridge.
"The atmosphere for the one-dayer [against New Zealand] was electric.
"Trent Bridge is a great ground. We get great support here and we've got a great record here.
"I love bowling and batting here. It's all about that first over for me and setting the tone."
