Simona Halep showed her class against 18-year qualifier Cici Bellis to progress to the final four of the Qatar Total Open in straight sets 6-0, 6-4.
Halep took the initiative in the first set and didn't drop a game against her 18-year old opponent to seal the first set 6-0 in just 31 minutes.
Cici Bellis had knocked out fifth seed Karolína Plíšková on route to the quarter-finals and the American held her own for much of the second set, getting back into the game and testing her experienced opponent.
However, the class of world number two showed in the later stages of the second set. Timely breaks of service in the seventh & ninth game swung the contest in favour of the Romanian who took the set 6-4 and the contest.
Halep, the 2014 Qatar Open winner will now progress to the semi-finals where she will play Garbine Muguruza.
