The fourth seed pairing of Ivan Dogic & Fernando Verdasco booked their spot in the next round of the doubles competition with a comprehensive 6-1, 6-4 victory over Florin Mergea of Romania & Nenanad Zimonjic of Serbia. Whilst the second seeds Oliver Marach & Mate Pavic also progressed in straight sets, defeating the team of Daniel Nestor & Phillipp Oswald 6-2, 6-2.
Nikoloz Basilashvili & Andreas Haider-Maurer came from a set down to progress to the next round of the doubles competition. The duo found themselves 6-1 down in the first set to the pair of Nikola Mektic & Alexander Peya. However, the Georgian & Austrian competitors rallied in the second winning 7-6 and winning a third set tiebreak 10-8.
Tuna Al Tuna of Tunisia & Elias Ymer of Sweden also needed a third set tiebreak to get the better of Peter Gojowczyk & Frederic Niemeyer. The wildcard duo of Al Tuna and Ymer lost the first set 7-5, but came back strongly winning the second set 6-2 before winning a closely contested third set 10-8 on the tiebreak.
