Michaely Bihina, Cameroon’s wall
Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina was awarded the WAFCON 2026 Golden Glove after playing a crucial role in Cameroon’s journey to winning the continental title for the first time.
At just 22 years old, Bihina finished the tournament as one of its standout performers thanks to her composure between the posts and, above all, her ability to deliver in the moments of greatest pressure.
A performance that changed the course against Nigeria
Bihina made nine saves in the 1-0 victory over the defending champions, kept her second clean sheet of the tournament and helped Cameroon eliminate a team that had won the African title 10 times.
That performance showed just how important their goalkeeper would be during the decisive stages of the competition.

Three penalties saved on an unforgettable night
Her next major challenge came against tournament hosts Morocco in a semifinal that required 120 minutes and a penalty shootout to determine a winner.
After making three saves during the match and keeping another clean sheet in the 0-0 draw, Bihina once again became the protagonist from the penalty spot.
The goalkeeper saved three Moroccan penalties as Cameroon won the shootout 3-1 to secure their place in the final. She also became the first Cameroonian goalkeeper to save three attempts in a WAFCON penalty shootout.
Across the quarterfinals and semifinals, she recorded 12 saves without conceding a single goal, performances that earned her Player of the Match honors in both games.
The perfect ending to a historic campaign
In the final against Malawi, the goalkeeper once again kept a clean sheet as Cameroon claimed a 3-0 victory to win the first WAFCON title in their history.
Her performances throughout the tournament were officially recognized with the WAFCON 2026 Golden Glove, putting the finishing touch on a campaign in which her interventions proved crucial in carrying the Indomitable Lionesses to continental glory.
