What Vinícius Jr. Said After Securing World Cup Qualification for Carlo Ancelotti
The Real Madrid forward scored the winning goal against Paraguay and highlighted that the Italian coach will now have more time to shape the team for 2026.
Vinícius Stresses the Importance of Winning at Home
After netting the only goal in Brazil’s 1–0 win over Paraguay, Vinícius Jr. spoke to local television and emphasized the need for a home victory, especially after the draw in Carlo Ancelotti’s debut against Ecuador. “It wasn’t one of our best matches, but we can improve. It was important to win at home,” said the Real Madrid star.
With this result, Brazil officially secured its spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The win relieves some of the pressure surrounding the team and gives Ancelotti more time to fine-tune the squad.
Raphinha Reflects on the Team’s Progress
Raphinha, winger for FC Barcelona, also shared his thoughts after the match. “The first objective has been achieved, which was qualifying for the World Cup. Now we have to stay focused,” he said.
He added that the team has been working well, even if results haven’t always followed. “When the results don’t come, people start demanding more, but we’ve been doing a good job,” Raphinha explained.
With qualification in the bag, Carlo Ancelotti’s team can now shift focus to improving their chemistry and tactical play ahead of the tournament. The performance of Vinícius Jr., now a key player for the national team, symbolizes the new era for the Seleção, powered by elite talent from across Europe.
Up next, Vinícius will return to his club duties, including Real Madrid’s upcoming debut at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where he’ll be one of the tournament’s marquee names.
