Cristiano Ronaldo’s Bodyguard Reveals The Secrets of His Security and What It’s Like to Work for Him
Hicham, Cristiano Ronaldo’s former personal bodyguard, broke his silence about what it’s like to ensure the safety of Portugal’s all-time top scorer and one of the most popular footballers worldwide. In an interview with the Tardear program on Telecinco, the ex-security agent gave a more human view of the Al-Nassr star, assuring he is “the best boss” he has ever had and denying the cold or arrogant image often attributed to him.
“Cristiano is a generous and very good person. He always treated us with respect,” said Hicham, who worked alongside him for four years, facing the risks of his high media exposure, especially from paparazzi. “There are no real threats to his life, but there were complicated moments with photographers trying to capture him all the time. My job was to keep him away from the public eye when necessary,” he explained.
According to Hicham, working for someone like Ronaldo requires total dedication: “Your life depends on his, and you must be willing to give it if necessary.” He also acknowledged that although Cristiano Ronaldo lives a quiet life in Saudi Arabia with his partner Georgina Rodríguez and their children, the environment around him demands constant security measures due to his immense fame. He compared his role to that of Yassine Cheuko, the former Navy SEAL currently protecting Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Portugal responds with greatness: Cristiano and Francisco Conceição lead a historic comeback
On the sporting front, Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved he’s still relevant at 40 years old, playing a key role in Portugal’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Germany in the Nations League semifinals.
The match, held at Munich’s Allianz Arena, started tough for the Portuguese. A goal from Florian Wirtz in the 48th minute put Germany ahead, seemingly in control of the game. However, the reaction from Roberto Martínez’s squad was swift.
First, Francisco Conceição scored a stunning goal in the 63rd minute after a brilliant individual play. Just five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo appeared in the box to finish a cross from Nuno Mendes, turning the score around with surgical precision and the calm of a veteran.
Portugal dominated the final stretch and deserved more goals but was stopped by an inspired Marc-André ter Stegen. Now, the Portuguese await the final against either Spain or France, with Lamine Yamal or Kylian Mbappé as potential opponents.
While the world admires him for his goals, those who know him personally, like Hicham, also value him for his humanity. Cristiano continues to shine both on and off the pitch.
