Lamine Yamal Responds to Rumors: “A Lot Has Been Said About Me, and It Was All Lies”
Tired of the rumors, Lamine Yamal broke his silence after Barcelona’s draw against Brugge. He spoke about his injury, his happiness — and even the comparisons with Messi.
“I’m Feeling Great and Very Calm”
After the 3–3 draw against Club Brugge, Lamine Yamal addressed both his personal and professional situation. The young Barcelona star wanted to put an end to weeks of speculation surrounding his fitness and attitude.
“A lot has been said about my pubalgia, about me being sad — and it was all lies. I’ve been the same as always: very happy, focused on my work, trying to get back and play at this level, which is where I feel best and enjoy myself the most,” said the winger, making it clear that his focus remains intact despite media pressure.
Between Pride and Frustration
Although he scored a stunning goal after a clever assist from Fermín López, Lamine admitted he wasn’t satisfied with the result. “It was a really quick play — Fermín set it up with a backheel and I finished it well, but I’m left with the feeling that we couldn’t win. Hopefully next time we will,” he said with a serious tone.
When asked about comparisons with Lionel Messi, the youngster responded humbly: “Messi has scored a thousand goals like that. I can’t compare myself to him. I’m just trying to improve, make my own path, and hopefully score many more like that.”
Focused on Getting Better
Reflecting on the draw, Lamine admitted that the team left with a “bittersweet feeling.” “We wanted all three points. We’re Barça, we have to win every game, but it’s a tough place to play. When you concede three goals, it’s hard to win — that’s what we have to improve,” he explained.
Finally, he addressed the boos from the Belgian crowd: “If they boo me, it’s because they know I’m doing my job well. Little by little, the whistles faded — that means I did things right. It doesn’t bother me.”
At just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal is showing not only talent but maturity beyond his years. In the midst of pressure and scrutiny, Barça’s No.10 continues to build his own path — with his feet on the pitch and his head firmly in place.
