Paris Saint-Germain received troubling news after their clash against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffered an injury that will force him to undergo a lengthy recovery process, turning a European night into a difficult moment for the Georgian forward.
After the severity of the injury became known, the player turned to his Instagram account to share his initial thoughts. His words revealed the personal impact of what happened and how difficult it has been to come to terms with an unexpected setback.
“Why Me?”: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's Heartbreaking Message
“Why me, actually?” the forward wrote, explaining that he still cannot get what happened out of his mind. Kvaratskhelia admitted that he had prepared for the match like never before, convinced he was ready to face any challenge, but acknowledged that he was not prepared for a situation like this.
The player also spoke about his faith, recalling that before every match, he asks God to let him leave the pitch unharmed. Now, he says he is ready to endure the months of work, pain, and tears that lie ahead. His message reflects the frustration of a player forced to stop just when he wanted to keep competing at the highest level.
The Serious Injury Complicating PSG's Plans
Kvaratskhelia suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the match against Barcelona. The injury will require surgery and a rehabilitation process before he can consider returning to the pitch.
His absence is a setback for PSG, who will temporarily lose one of their attacking options. For now, the priority will be for the Georgian forward to progress through his recovery without rushing the process, while the team must prepare to face its upcoming commitments without one of its forwards.
Kvaratskhelia's Promise to the Fans
Despite the setback, the player made it clear that he is determined to work toward returning to competition. “I know I have to come back stronger for my people who always support me. I will not let them down,” he said in his post, thanking everyone who has shown him support.
Kvaratskhelia also promised not to waste a single second during his recovery and ended his message with a phrase for those waiting to see him back on the pitch: “Thank you all for your support. See you soon.”
