The 2026-27 UEFA Champions League will once again distribute enormous sums, but there is an important distinction between the specific prize for becoming champion and the total amount the winning club can earn throughout the competition. According to UEFA Circular 48/2026, the winner of the final can expect an additional €6.5 million. By the time a club lifts the trophy, however, it will already have accumulated several other payments.

How much money will the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League winner earn?
UEFA has confirmed its provisional prize-money structure for 2026-27. The champion will receive an additional €6.5 million for lifting the trophy, but its total earnings will be far higher.
How much is awarded for winning the final?

UEFA allocates €18.5 million to each club that reaches the final, with another €6.5 million going to the champion. Reaching the decisive match and then winning it is therefore worth €25 million in progression and title payments.
The full journey is much more valuable. Each of the 36 league-phase participants can expect an initial allocation of €18.62 million. Qualification for the round of 16 adds €11 million, reaching the quarterfinals brings €12.5 million, the semifinals €15 million and the final €18.5 million. Including the winner's bonus, a champion would accumulate €82.12 million from those participation and progression payments before league-phase results, ranking bonuses and the value pillar are added.
League-phase results also generate revenue

Each league-phase victory is worth €2.1 million, while a draw pays €700,000. Final position also matters. UEFA divides its league-ranking bonus into 666 shares with an initial value of €275,000 each. The team finishing first receives 36 shares — €9.9 million at the initial value — while clubs ranked first through eighth receive an additional €2 million.
For example, a champion that won all eight league-phase games, finished first and then went on to lift the trophy would accumulate €110.82 million from these payments before the value pillar is included. That is an illustration rather than a guaranteed total, because money left undistributed as a result of drawn matches is added proportionally to the ranking shares.
Why is there no single final figure?

The third major component is UEFA's value pillar, for which €853 million has been allocated. It combines elements linked to each country's broadcast market and clubs' UEFA coefficients, meaning the amount differs significantly from one participant to another.
UEFA expects to distribute €2.467 billion across the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup in 2026-27. Of that, €2.437 billion is allocated to clubs from the Champions League league phase onward. UEFA also stresses that these figures are provisional and that final distributions will depend on the revenue it actually receives.
The exact amount earned by the 2026-27 champion will therefore only be known after the season. The title itself carries a projected additional payment of €6.5 million, but the winning club's total Champions League revenue will be far higher and will depend on its entire campaign.
