Franco Mastantuono Makes History With Real Madrid: A Record That Reminds Us of Lamine Yamal
Franco Mastantuono continues to write his own history at Real Madrid
Franco Mastantuono is carving out an unprecedented story at Real Madrid, signaling a highly promising future for the Blancos. During the opening of the Champions League, the Argentine footballer made history.
Mastantuono’s Record as a Madrid Player
Wearing the number 30 jersey, Mastantuono became the youngest player to start a Champions League match for Real Madrid at 18 years and 33 days old.

What stands out most is that, despite his young age, he plays as if he’s been competing at the highest level of European football for years, though that’s not the case. The Argentine arrived in the most recent transfer window, and there were even questions about whether he was ready for the first team or if he would play for Castilla.
So far, he has delivered, showcasing football of the highest caliber and earning the trust of Xabi Alonso.
Trent Alexander-Arnold Suffers Injury
Not everyone had luck in this opening round of the competition. Trent Alexander-Arnold, the English right-back, was forced to leave the pitch during the Real Madrid vs. Olympique de Marseille match after suffering a muscle injury in the 5th minute.
The right-back clutched the back of his left thigh after sprinting to receive a low pass from Thibaut Courtois. After being attended to by the club’s medical staff on the field, the player headed to the locker room, and Dani Carvajal came on as his replacement.
Trent, who joined Real Madrid from Liverpool in the summer, was back in the starting lineup on Tuesday after being a substitute in the LaLiga match against Real Sociedad on Saturday.
