Como 1907's Massive Investment to Challenge in Serie A and the Champions League
Led by Cesc Fàbregas, Como 1907 has invested more than $150 million to build a squad capable of competing in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.
Como 1907 is determined to establish itself as one of the rising forces in Italian football.
Led by Cesc Fàbregas, the Lombardy-based club has made one of the biggest investments of the 2026-27 summer transfer window, spending nearly $151 million on new signings.
Only Juventus have invested more in Italy, highlighting Como's ambition as the club prepares for its first-ever UEFA Champions League campaign while aiming to compete at the highest level both domestically and in Europe.

Historic investment to compete on multiple fronts
Como's rapid sporting growth has been backed by significant financial support. The club has invested approximately $151 million to strengthen nearly every area of the squad, building the depth and quality needed to handle the demands of both Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.
The club's biggest investment was bringing back Nico Paz, who is viewed as the centerpiece of Fàbregas' long-term project. Como reportedly spent around $70 million to re-sign the highly rated Argentine playmaker, believing he can become one of the team's defining players this season.
The spending spree also includes the permanent signing of Álvaro Morata for approximately $14 million, along with midfield additions Luis Milla and Mattia Liberali, both acquired for around $7 million each.
More reinforcements on the way for Fàbregas
Como's transfer business is far from over.
The club is reportedly close to completing the signing of English defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea in a deal worth nearly $42 million, including add-ons. The move is designed to strengthen a back line that will face a much higher level of competition in both Serie A and the Champions League.
Brazilian full-back Kaiki has also joined on a loan deal with an obligation to buy worth close to $35 million, while promising Spanish defender Andrés Cuenca arrives as a long-term investment.
Como's next target is Yan Couto, who is expected to join initially on loan with a purchase option valued at around $35 million.
Financial Fair Play emerges as Como's biggest challenge
Como's aggressive spending has also placed the club under increased Financial Fair Play scrutiny.
The scale of the investment significantly reduces the club's financial flexibility and could expose Como to sanctions if it fails to balance its books throughout the season.
Despite those concerns, the club's leadership remains fully committed to Cesc Fàbregas' vision. The objective is clear: build a squad capable of competing for European places in Serie A while making a strong impression in its historic UEFA Champions League debut.
The club's unprecedented financial commitment reflects its determination to move beyond being one of Italy's surprise stories and establish itself as a genuine contender on both the domestic and European stage.
