Porto maintained its perfect Liga Portugal start by coming from behind to beat Casa Pia 4-1 on a particularly significant night for Santi Giménez. The Mexican scored his first goal for the Dragons and found the net for the first time in nearly a year, while Porto made it six wins from its opening six league matches.
The Dragons had to respond after falling behind. Gabri Veiga had already hit the post, but it was Casa Pia that found the breakthrough.
Casa Pia strikes first before Porto responds
The hosts took the lead in the 43rd minute, when Henrique Araújo converted from the penalty spot.
Porto did not need long to answer. Deep into first-half stoppage time, a corner kept the ball alive inside the penalty area. Pablo Rosario controlled it in close quarters before André Silva provided the finishing touch, sending it into the net to restore parity before the break.
Porto completes the comeback and pulls away
Set pieces made the difference again around the hour mark.
Gabri Veiga delivered a corner and Kiwior rose above the defense, directing his header into the net to give Porto its first lead of the game.
Another goal followed only six minutes later.
A poor defensive clearance fell to Borja Sainz, who did not let the ball hit the ground, striking it first time to make it 3-1.
Porto had turned a late first-half deficit into a comfortable second-half advantage.
Santi Giménez ends drought with first Porto goal
There was still time for a special moment for Santi Giménez.
The Mexican came off the bench in the 62nd minute and got his opportunity in stoppage time. Giménez converted a penalty in the 91st minute to make it 4-1 and finally open his scoring account for Porto.
The goal also ended a long wait for the striker. Santi had not scored since September 23 of last year, when he found the net for Milan against Lecce in the Coppa Italia.
Porto therefore secured its sixth victory in six Liga Portugal matches, maintaining a perfect start before hosting Benfica in Portuguese soccer's biggest rivalry next week.
