(Video): FC Porto Come From Behind Against Moreirense to Maintain Perfect Start

FC Porto had to battle, but ultimately secured a 2-1 victory over Moreirense at the Estádio do Dragão to maintain their perfect start in the Liga Portugal Betclic.

The big surprise came in the 19th minute. After a good cross from the flank, Dinis Pinto arrived to put the ball into the back of the net and silence the Dragão. It was also the first goal Porto had conceded in the league this season.

Moreirense did not simply sit back and protect their advantage. The visitors looked to break quickly on the counterattack and, for several minutes, managed to cause problems for a Porto side that controlled possession but struggled to find space.

The Dragons Respond Before Halftime

Just when it appeared Moreirense would head into the locker room with the lead, Jan Bednarek stepped up. In the 37th minute, the defender headed home an excellent cross from William Gomes to make it 1-1.

The goal changed the match, and the Dragons finished the first half much stronger than they had started it.

Porto’s dominance was reflected on the scoreboard again in the 57th minute. Pepê found space to deliver an excellent cross, and William Gomes, who had already provided the assist for the equalizer, arrived to score what proved to be the winning goal.

FC Porto managed their advantage from there and celebrated another victory to maintain their perfect record: five wins from their opening five matches in the Liga Portugal Betclic.

Francesco Farioli’s side will return to action next weekend, while Moreirense will look to bounce back after becoming the first team to score against the Dragons this season.
