A Star Signing to Bolster the Attack
Manchester United has confirmed the arrival of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £74 million (€85 million). The forward, born in Radece, becomes the fourth signing for head coach Rúben Amorim this transfer window, bringing the club’s total summer spending to €240 million.
In this transfer period, the Red Devils have also secured Bryan Mbeumo (€75 million), Matheus Cunha (€74 million), and Diego León (€4 million). The arrival of Šeško is expected to trigger notable departures, including Spanish-Argentine Alejandro Garnacho, who is in talks with Chelsea, as well as Rasmus Højlund, and Marcus Rashford, who has already gone on loan to Barcelona.
The 22-year-old Slovenian signed a five-year contract until 2030. He was also a target for Newcastle United as a potential replacement if Alexander Isak were sold, but chose United, a club that will not play in Europe this season after finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.
A Young Striker in Full Bloom
Over the last two seasons, Šeško has been the under-23 player with the most goals in Europe’s top leagues. Last season, he scored 21 goals and provided six assists for RB Leipzig. For the Slovenian national team, he has earned 41 caps and scored 16 goals, having become the youngest debutant in the country’s history in 2021.
“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special, but what truly attracts me is the future. When we talked about the project, it was clear everything is set up for this team to grow and soon compete for the biggest titles,” said the forward at his presentation.

With this addition, Manchester United aims to regain its competitive edge in English football and return to challenging for major trophies, building a forward line full of youth and international potential.
