After a decade filled with emotions, goals, and unforgettable achievements, Son Heung-min has bid farewell to Tottenham Hotspur to join the ambitious project of Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer (MLS). The South Korean forward, one of Asia’s football icons, is embarking on a new chapter after leaving a lasting mark in the Premier League.

A heartfelt goodbye full of gratitude and unforgettable memories

At 33 years old, Son ends an impressive journey in North London. He joined Tottenham in 2015 and quickly became one of the club’s most beloved figures. Over his ten seasons, he scored 173 goals, provided 101 assists, and became the first Asian player to win the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2021–22 season.

The South Korean star used his Instagram account to say goodbye to the club and its fans. “The time has come to close this chapter. Tottenham Hotspur has been my home for the past ten years,” he wrote emotionally, recalling the warm welcome he received upon arriving in England.

Among the standout moments he highlighted in his farewell message were his debut, his Puskás Award-winning goal, the Golden Boot, and above all, winning a European title: “Becoming champions in Bilbao was something I will never forget. That night will stay with us forever.”

Son also made sure to thank everyone who was part of his time at the club: “Thank you for the love, support, and belief in me. To my coaches, teammates, club staff, and fans — thank you for being there every step of the way: in victories, defeats, injuries, and celebrations.”

Now, Son Heung-min faces a new challenge with LAFC, where he hopes to continue shining in North American football and contribute his experience to a team that has rapidly grown in recent years. The fans in Los Angeles are already eagerly awaiting his arrival.
