Inter Miami’s Coach Assures: “If We Were Talking About Painting, Messi Would Be Picasso”
Hoyos referred in an unusual and poetic manner to the football quality of the Argentine number ten from Inter Miami.
An unusual comparison
Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos compared Lionel Messi to painter Pablo Picasso on Wednesday after the Argentine soccer player contributed to his team's victory with two goals, the first of which was beautifully executed, according to the coach.
"There are no words. The guys were showing me the first goal he scored. Those of us who have played soccer know what it's like. If we were talking about painting, he would be Picasso," said Hoyos after the 4-2 victory over Atlético de San Luis in both teams' debut in the Leagues Cup
Messi's role
In addition to the brace, Messi took the corner kick that Micael converted into a goal, putting the fourth goal on the scoreboard.
Hoyos also highlighted Noah Allen's performance, who provided three assists from the left wing, including the one for Messi's opening goal.
"He got into the spaces very well," said the coach, before confessing that the second and third assists were his favorites

Inter Miami will play the second matchday of the Leagues Cup on Saturday against Monterrey, before closing the first phase next Wednesday against León.
The Leagues Cup is an annual competition that pits Major League Soccer (MLS) teams against those from the Liga MX.
Inter Miami won this title in 2023, the first in its history, which came weeks after signing Messi. Last year, they reached the final but were defeated by the Seattle Sounders. EFE
