Luis Enrique Rules Out Emergency Signings After Kvaratskhelia's Injury

Luis Enrique has reiterated his stance on PSG's transfer plans.

Asked whether the club would sign another winger during the winter transfer window to cover the lengthy absence of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the Spanish coach made his position clear:

“Not every injury means you have to sign or recruit new players. I said at the beginning of the season that we could cope with anything, that we could remain calm even if we had two or three significant injuries.”

PSG Remains Open to Transfer Opportunities Despite No Immediate Need

There is no urgency to bring in reinforcements, although Luis Enrique has not completely ruled out potential signings.

It is a similar approach to the one taken by the PSG coach and Luis Campos in the winter of 2025, when the club was considering signing Kvaratskhelia himself.

“Of course, we are always attentive to every opportunity to sign new players if we believe we need them. But not because of a specific need; it is part of our normal interest in players. It is always our responsibility to remain attentive during the transfer window, but not because of injuries.”
