Messi Could End Jardine Golden Era at Club America: Inter Miami Shows Interest
The future of André Jardine at Club America could take a dramatic turn in the coming days. After coming close to winning a fourth straight Liga MX title, the Brazilian manager has emerged as a top candidate to take over at Inter Miami, the Major League Soccer (MLS) club led by none other than Lionel Messi.

According to reports from GOAL, Jardine is on the radar of club owners Jorge Mas and David Beckham, who are exploring managerial alternatives amid a possible departure of Javier Mascherano. The former Argentine international has struggled at the helm, securing just one win in his last eight matches across all competitions. Inter Miami currently sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference after 14 rounds.
Jardine a Top Target in Miami
Jardine name has been brought to the table by Alberto Marrero, Inter Miami current director of football and the man who first brought him to Liga MX in 2021 with Atlético de San Luis after he won the gold medal with Brazil at the Tokyo Olympics.
The interest is serious, but luring Jardine away from Coapa won’t be easy. He is under contract with Club America until the summer of 2027, and his release clause is reportedly around $5 million. Moreover, the Brazilian manager has shown strong commitment to the club’s project, previously turning down lucrative offers, such as one from Brazil Botafogo in 2024.
Focused on the Club World Cup
While speculation grows, Jardine remains focused on his immediate objective: securing a spot in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. America will face LAFC this coming Saturday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles in a decisive playoff match for qualification to the tournament’s expanded format.
Despite the recent loss in the Clausura 2025 final against Toluca, Club America board continues to back Jardine work. However, the opportunity to coach a star-studded roster featuring Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba might signal the end of a golden chapter in Jardine career and in America recent history.
