Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior opened up about the reasons why Real Madrid ended another season without major trophies.

Speaking to CazéTV, Vinicius pointed to unexpected home defeats, coaching changes and the loss of experienced players as the main causes behind the team’s struggles.

“We no longer have as many experienced players”

Vinicius explained that Real Madrid lost important leaders compared to previous seasons.

He specifically mentioned:

• Nacho Fernandez
• Dani Carvajal
• Luka Modric
• Toni Kroos

According to Vinicius, players like himself, Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde are still learning how to fully carry the leadership responsibilities inside the dressing room.

He also addressed Mbappé and coaching changes

The Brazilian denied any issues with Kylian Mbappe and insisted they maintain a strong relationship off the pitch.

He also admitted the team suffered after the departure of Carlo Ancelotti, mentioning the coaching spells of Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa.

Vinicius wants to stay at Real Madrid

The forward also made clear that he wants to renew his contract and spend his entire career at Real Madrid.

Vinicius said he never imagined himself leaving the club and highlighted the trust between him and Florentino Perez.

Still, he admitted that one day he dreams of returning to Flamengo and winning the Copa Libertadores.
