Vinícius Jr. Wants Mbappé’s Salary if He Stays at Real Madrid
The future of Vinícius Júnior at Real Madrid has entered a stage of uncertainty. Despite having a contract until 2027, negotiations to extend his deal are completely stalled. According to Spanish media, talks between the Brazilian forward and the Madrid board have cooled off entirely due to financial demands that the club is unwilling to meet.
At Valdebebas, concerns have grown over the inconsistent form the forward has shown throughout the season, which has even led to him being benched in several matches. Added to this is his firm stance in contract negotiations, which has caused frustration among the club’s top management.
Vinícius Jr. Wants Mbappé’s Salary If He Doesn’t Leave Real Madrid
The most sensitive point in the conflict lies in the financial demands. Vinícius aims to become the highest-paid player in the squad, surpassing even Kylian Mbappé, who recently joined the club with a contract estimated at €30 million net per season. The Brazilian also demands a loyalty bonus that would significantly increase the total cost of his renewal.

According to Sport newspaper, this figure exceeds the salary cap set by Florentino Pérez, raising alarm bells within the club. For now, the renewal offer of around €20 million has been rejected, and the management does not rule out listening to offers for the player if he does not soften his demands.
Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso, the team’s new coach, has started experimenting with a different tactical scheme, placing Vinícius on the right wing, where he has looked less involved. This disconnect on the pitch fuels doubts about his fit in the new project.
Off the field, Vinícius Jr. has also made headlines after hosting a private birthday celebration in Rio de Janeiro, which caused discomfort at the club given its timing during a difficult sporting phase. Additionally, he was honored with a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum, unveiled at the Sambadrome of Rio, a symbolic place given the racist incidents he suffered in Spain.
The Brazilian, who has scored over 100 goals and won more than a dozen titles with Madrid, is at a crucial crossroads in his career. If no agreement is reached, this summer could mark the end of his time at the Casa Blanca.
