LaLiga was once again active in the 2026 summer transfer market. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid were responsible for many of the biggest moves, adding players capable of changing the balance of the title race. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid produced some of the biggest moves of the European transfer market. Yan Diomande headlines a list that also features World Cup winners and established stars.
Yan Diomande – Real Madrid
Real Madrid completed the biggest deal of the summer in Spain by signing Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old winger joined from RB Leipzig for approximately $144.8 million and signed through June 2033. His rapid development in Germany turned him into one of Europe’s most valuable young attackers. Madrid are betting on an explosive winger with one-on-one ability and enough upside to become a long-term piece of José Mourinho’s new project.
Anthony Gordon – Barcelona
Barcelona strengthened their attack with Anthony Gordon, who arrived from Newcastle United for around $92.7 million. The England international signed through 2031 and brings pace, high-intensity pressing and the ability to attack space, qualities that fit naturally into Hansi Flick’s approach. His adaptation has already produced an early highlight: Gordon came off the bench in his LaLiga debut against Elche and provided two assists within four minutes.
Rodri – Barcelona
Rodri’s arrival was one of the highest-profile moves of the entire window. Barcelona paid approximately $69.5 million to Manchester City and secured the midfielder through 2030. The Spain international arrived after being named the best player at the 2026 World Cup, which his national team won, and already had the 2024 Ballon d’Or on his résumé. His positional intelligence, passing and ability to control tempo could transform Barcelona’s midfield.
Marc Cucurella – Real Madrid
Real Madrid also invested around $63.7 million to bring Marc Cucurella back to Spain from Chelsea. The left-back signed through 2032 after establishing himself in the Premier League. He also arrived in Madrid as a 2026 World Cup champion with Spain, having played every minute of the tournament. His intensity, energy and experience give Mourinho an immediate solution on the left side of the defense.
Cristian Romero – Atlético de Madrid
Atlético de Madrid completed another major deal by signing Cristian “Cuti” Romero from Tottenham for around $46.4 million. The Argentina center-back signed through 2031 after reaching the 2026 World Cup final with his national team. His aggressive defending, leadership and extensive experience in English soccer make him a natural fit for Diego Simeone. In a squad that also added Morten Hjulmand and Kang In Lee, Romero stands out as one of the reinforcements capable of immediately raising Atlético’s competitive level.
