Rashford’s Sacrifice to Stay at Barcelona
Rashford Wants to Stay at Barça
Marcus Rashford is going through a positive moment with FC Barcelona, and his performances this season are starting to deliver important results. In the recent match against Getafe, he found the net again, confirming the strong level he has shown since arriving at the Catalan club. According to journalist Guillem Balagué, the English forward would be willing to make a financial sacrifice to remain at Camp Nou, even accepting a lower salary to avoid returning to Manchester United.
The Financial Obstacle and Final Decision
Marcus Rashford joined FC Barcelona on loan and, in theory, should return to Old Trafford once the season ends. However, the British attacker feels comfortable in the blaugrana environment and believes his adaptation to both the team and its playing style has been positive. That comfort has led him to prioritize staying in Spain over a higher salary.
The main obstacle is financial. Manchester United is not considering another loan and has made it clear they will only accept a permanent transfer. The asking price is around €30 million, a difficult figure for FC Barcelona due to their financial limitations and Financial Fair Play restrictions.
Despite not being an undisputed starter, Marcus Rashford has delivered whenever Hansi Flick has given him minutes. His numbers back up his impact: 13 goals and 13 assists reflect consistent offensive contribution and effective adaptation to the German coach’s system.

The blaugrana board values his continuity, although they are also considering whether that investment should be allocated to other priority positions. Marcus Rashford, for his part, remains open to significantly reducing his current salary—close to €14 million—to help facilitate the deal.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona is working on adjusting its budget and defining reinforcements for next season. The club views his stay positively, but still needs to find the right financial formula to complete the permanent signing.
