According to journalist Roberto Gómez during the Radio MARCA program La Tribu, Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme is expected to present a financial guarantee worth €187 million as part of the process to officially register his candidacy.
Based on the information shared by Roberto Gómez, the procedure would take place next Thursday before the Spanish Professional Football League, the institution responsible for verifying the financial validity of the guarantee before the candidacy can be formally approved by the Electoral Board.
“Next Thursday Enrique Riquelme plans to present the €187 million guarantee to the Professional Football League,” Roberto Gómez stated live on air, adding that if everything receives approval, the official announcement could come just one day later.

During his appearance on Radio MARCA, Roberto Gómez explained that Enrique Riquelme’s inner circle has been quietly working on a project to challenge for the Real Madrid presidency for several years.
“He has a team, he has the guarantee, and he has the desire,” the journalist said, making it clear that this is not an improvised candidacy. He even claimed that the businessman from Valencia has been preparing for this possibility for “three or four years,” surrounding himself with advisors and specialists.
Roberto Gómez also pointed out that Riquelme’s biggest concern has been the lack of time after Florentino Pérez unexpectedly announced early elections. “His only obsession is that he is running out of time,” the journalist explained during the broadcast.
