Barcelona Preparing Another Summer Splash As Bernardo Silva Emerges As Top Target
Barcelona's summer spending spree may not be over yet, with another world-class name now emerging as a major target.
Barcelona is building a dream transfer window
FC Barcelona has quickly become one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer market.
While the club is already preparing to officially announce the signing of Anthony Gordon, and continues pushing forward with a reported €100 million offer for Julian Alvarez, another elite name has now emerged as a serious target: Bernardo Silva.
Led by sporting director Deco, Barcelona continues to operate aggressively in the market and, after years of failed attempts, the Portuguese playmaker may finally be on his way to Catalunya.
Bernardo Silva wants the move
According to a report from Sport, the 31-year-old has decided that the time has come to end his chapter in English football and has made Barcelona his preferred destination.
The interest between both sides is nothing new. Bernardo has been admired by Barcelona for years and was one of the club's top priorities during the Xavi Hernandez era. However, financial limitations repeatedly prevented a deal from materializing.
Now, the situation is very different. Silva is available as a free agent and has reportedly instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to accelerate negotiations and finally complete the long-awaited move to La Liga.

Hansi Flick has changed his mind
When the possibility of signing Bernardo Silva first resurfaced, Hansi Flick reportedly had concerns about the player's age and the number of attacking options already available within the squad.
Those doubts appear to have disappeared. The German coach now views Bernardo as a valuable addition because of his experience, leadership, and tactical versatility.
The Portuguese international can operate as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, or inverted winger, offering flexibility across multiple positions. Barcelona also believes his presence could help manage the workload of young superstar Lamine Yamal throughout a demanding season.
Silva is willing to take a pay cut
One of the biggest reasons for optimism inside Barcelona is the player's willingness to make financial sacrifices in order to join the club.
According to Sport, Bernardo Silva is prepared to accept a significant salary reduction to fit within Barcelona's wage structure. That commitment removes one of the major obstacles that complicated negotiations in previous years.
Talks between Deco and Jorge Mendes have intensified significantly in recent days, with growing confidence that the deal is entering a decisive stage.
Could this become Barcelona's perfect summer?
The possible arrival of Bernardo Silva would be another major statement in what is already shaping up to be a remarkable transfer window for the Blaugrana.
Anthony Gordon's move is practically completed, while Barcelona has also launched an ambitious pursuit of Julian Alvarez, submitting an offer reportedly worth around €100 million for the Argentine forward.
If the club succeeds in completing all three operations, Barcelona would dramatically strengthen its attacking options and send a powerful message to the rest of Europe: the Catalan giants are determined to return to the very top of European football in the 2026-27 season.
