Barcelona 'blown away' by Yamal's overhead kick, says Raphinha
Barcelona got back to winning ways to go back to the top of LaLiga, but it was Lamine Yamal who stole the headlines at Camp Nou.
Raphinha says Barcelona were "blown away" by Lamine Yamal's stunning bicycle kick that capped a 3-0 win over Real Oviedo.
Barcelona bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Real Sociedad last weekend, with Dani Olmo, Raphinha and Yamal scoring the goals that sent Hansi Flick's side back to the top of LaLiga.
Yamal became just the second player in Europe's top five leagues to record more than eight goals and eight assists at home across all competitions, after Bayern Munich's Michael Olise (nine goals, 11 assists) since last April.
And while Raphinha has scored more goals in all competitions than any other player in Europe's top five leagues in 2026 so far (five), he wanted all the attention on the 18-year-old.
"We were blown away by Lamine's goal. Spectacular," he told DAZN.
"But the important thing was to win and gain confidence for Wednesday's game against Copenhagen [in the Champions League].
"We knew it was going to be very difficult against an opponent that presses well and wants to play. We weren't at our best in the first half, but in the second half, we were able to score the goals.
"We tried to press high in the second half to win the ball back as quickly as possible, and that's how the first two goals came about."
Barca have now won each of their last 10 home games in LaLiga, with this the first time they have secured at least 10 such victories under the same manager since December 2019 (W14 under Ernesto Valverde).
It was an underwhelming first half for the defending champions against Oviedo, who have not won since September in the Spanish top-flight, with Flick's side getting one of their five shots on target before the break.
They improved in the second half and eventually finished the match with 2.1 expected goals (xG) from 15 attempts, and also had a goal disallowed through Robert Lewandowski.
"There are a lot of matches and trips, and that's no excuse, but it's taken us a little longer to reach our best level. We did it in the second half," Flick said.
"They pressed very high up the pitch, and we didn't play at our best in the first half. We improved a lot in the second half; we scored quickly, and that was good.
"We have one game after another, a lot of travel... We hardly have any days off, and we have to take that into account. I'm aware that it's our job. The team always gives its best."
