Ansu Fati Wants to Return to Barcelona
Ansu Fati continues to dream of succeeding at FC Barcelona. The Spanish forward, currently on loan at AS Monaco, has rediscovered his form this season and is once again showing flashes of the immense talent that once made him the brightest jewel of La Masia. According to Mundo Deportivo, the attacker’s intention is to return to Camp Nou and fight for a permanent place in Hansi Flick’s project.
The Desire to Return to Camp Nou
Reports indicate that Ansu Fati wants to return to the club because he believes he still has a lot to offer the Blaugrana side. The forward feels that, at his best physical and footballing level, he can compete for minutes alongside stars such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, or even become an important impact substitute off the bench. He also knows that regaining prominence at Barcelona could reopen the doors to the Spanish national team.
With Monaco, Fati has enjoyed a positive season. He has played 30 matches and scored 12 goals, numbers that reflect a clear recovery after several difficult years marked by injuries and a lack of consistency. At the French club, he has become an important piece, and his performances have convinced Monaco to try to keep him for another season.
Monaco Wants to Keep Him
His loan deal expires on June 30, and Monaco has the option to activate the €11 million purchase clause. Fabrizio Romano reported that the French side is very close to triggering that option, although the player’s wishes could still change the course of the operation.
The career of Ansu Fati has been marked by very difficult moments. Injuries completely slowed the progression of a player who was once expected to become one of the biggest stars of Barcelona. After several flashes of brilliance with the Catalan club, he never managed to establish himself in a team that was also going through a difficult institutional and sporting period. He later moved on loan to Brighton, where he also struggled for consistency, but at Monaco he appears to have regained confidence and continuity.
Heavy Competition in Barcelona’s Attack
Even so, his return to Barcelona would not be easy. The competition in attack is currently very strong, with Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford all enjoying excellent form. For now, Ansu is expected to report back to the club’s training ground at the end of June, where a final decision about his future will be made.
Monaco wants to keep him, but Ansu Fati still dreams of returning home and succeeding while wearing Blaugrana colors.
