Hossam Hassan Banned From Appearing in Egypt's Media
Egypt's Supreme Council for Media Regulation closed the doors to the head coach
The ban came like a bucket of cold water for Hossam Hassan, the national team coach, will not be able to appear in any media outlet, subject to the 2018 press and media regulation law. This was ordered by Egypt's Supreme Council for Media Regulation, which issued the resolution with immediate effect.
Formal warning to electronic sites
But the measure did not stop with the coach alone. In parallel, the body summoned legal representatives of several electronic sites for violating privacy protection rules. The warning was forceful: severe legal sanctions will be imposed if publications related to the investigated events are repeated.
The case that set off the alarm
Behind the resolution is a story that had already been building up noise: the controversy between Hossam Hassan and his ex-wife Dan Adam, marked by mutual accusations and extensive media coverage of their private life. That was the trigger. Against that backdrop, the Council reaffirmed the obligation to respect citizens' privacy and expressly prohibited the dissemination of content related to the case.
