Shakira, Madonna And BTS To Headline The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will feature its first-ever halftime show with Shakira, Madonna, and BTS as the main stars.
FIFA is preparing a historic spectacle for the final
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will continue breaking barriers both on and off the pitch. FIFA officially confirmed that the tournament final will feature, for the first time ever, a Super Bowl-style halftime show bringing together some of the biggest music stars on the planet.
The selected headliners are Shakira, Madonna, and BTS, who will perform on July 19 during the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The event aims to combine elite football with world-class entertainment in front of what could become a record-breaking global audience.
Shakira strengthens her World Cup legacy once again
Few artists have a stronger connection with the FIFA World Cup than Shakira. The Colombian superstar already became part of football history with iconic World Cup anthems such as Waka Waka during South Africa 2010, and now she will once again play a major role in the sport’s biggest tournament.
She also recently released the official song for the 2026 World Cup, “Dai Dai”, alongside Burna Boy, further strengthening her relationship with FIFA and football fans around the globe.
Madonna and BTS elevate the global scale of the event
The inclusion of Madonna pushes the spectacle to another level entirely. The legendary American singer will arrive at the World Cup while preparing for the release of her highly anticipated new studio album, Confessions II.
Meanwhile, BTS continues its massive global comeback after completing mandatory military service in South Korea. The K-pop supergroup also recently released its sixth studio album, Arirang, while simultaneously selling out stadiums around the world during its latest tour.
Chris Martin will oversee the halftime show
FIFA also confirmed that the event will be curated by Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, who will play a key role in the artistic direction of the halftime production.
The announcement itself was made through a special social media broadcast featuring iconic characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets, making it clear that FIFA wants the World Cup final to become one of the biggest entertainment events of the decade.
The 2026 World Cup will feature music across all host nations
The final will not be the only major musical event during the tournament. FIFA is also planning special ceremonies across all three host countries.
The opening ceremony at SoFi Stadium will feature performances from Katy Perry and Future, while celebrations in Canada and Mexico will include appearances by Michael Bublé and J Balvin, respectively. All of it is part of FIFA’s strategy to turn the 2026 World Cup into the biggest and most global tournament in football history.
FIFA wants the World Cup to dominate beyond football
With 48 national teams, more than 100 matches, and an expected record-breaking worldwide audience, FIFA wants the 2026 World Cup to become much more than just a football tournament.
And now, with names such as Shakira, Madonna, and BTS headlining the first halftime show in World Cup final history, it is clear that the tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada is aiming to become one of the largest sporting and cultural spectacles ever created.
