Morocco Rallies Past Haiti to Reach the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32
Morocco had to work much harder than expected, but ultimately showed its quality by defeating Haiti 4-2 in one of the most entertaining matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage. In Atlanta, the Atlas Lions came from behind twice before completing a comeback that secured their place in the Round of 32.
The match began exactly as expected, with Morocco controlling possession from the opening whistle. However, Haiti remained patient, waiting for opportunities to counterattack. That strategy paid off when Lenny Joseph finished a quick break to score Les Grenadiers' first World Cup goal in more than five decades.
A First Half Full of Stunning Goals
The Moroccan response came through their captain. Achraf Hakimi capitalized on a rebound spilled by Jonny Placide to level the match, but the celebration did not last long. Just minutes later, Wilson Isidor unleashed a sensational long-range strike that immediately became one of the best goals of the tournament, restoring Haiti's lead.
Before halftime, Ismael Saibari stepped up for Morocco, finishing first-time inside the penalty area to make it 2-2. The goal was his third of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

Morocco's Quality Made the Difference
After the break, Morocco continued to dominate possession but struggled to break through a determined Haitian defense led by an outstanding Jonny Placide, who produced several remarkable saves to keep his team in the match.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 77th minute when Soufiane Rahimi reacted first to a loose ball inside the box and fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner to complete the comeback.
In the closing minutes, a defensive lapse by Haiti allowed Dip to keep the attack alive before setting up Gessime Yassine, who calmly tapped home Morocco's fourth goal to seal the victory.
With the win, Morocco officially secured its place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32, while Haiti exited the tournament with plenty of pride after delivering one of the most memorable performances of the group stage.
