Depay included in Netherlands World Cup squad, Frimpong omitted
Ronald Koeman has named a Netherlands squad dominated by Premier League players, with Memphis Depay also fit enough to be included.
Jeremie Frimpong has been left out of the Netherlands' World Cup squad, but all-time top scorer Memphis Depay has recovered from injury to be selected.
Depay, who has scored 55 goals in 108 appearances for the Oranje, has recovered from a hamstring injury in time to feature at the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Frimpong, meanwhile, is not listed in Ronald Koeman's 26-man party, despite a strong debut campaign for Liverpool, with other full-backs preferred.
It is a Premier League-heavy Netherlands squad, with 15 of the players coming from England's top flight, including Frimpong's Liverpool team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo.
Seven of the eight defenders hail from the Premier League, with Inter's Denzel Dumfries the only exception. Stefan de Vrij has not recovered from injury in time to be selected.
Crysencio Summerville is given the nod and could make his international debut at FIFA's flagship tournament, while Arsenal's Jurrien Timber has made the cut – despite earlier doubts from Koeman, and not featuring for the Gunners since March due to an ankle injury.
Xavi Simons and Jerdy Schouten are both out of the tournament, having torn their anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL).
Marten de Roon does return to the Netherlands' midfield, however, having not featured for them since March 2024, as does Guus Til, who has made just one appearance since June 2022.
The Netherlands begin their World Cup campaign against Japan on June 14, before facing Sweden and Tunisia in Group F.
