Bosnia and Herzegovina’s possible lineup to face the United States at the FIFA World Cup 2026
The Dragons prepare for the biggest match in their history against Team USA at football’s premier global tournament.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team will play the most important match in its history this Wednesday, when it faces co-hosts of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the United States, in the Round of 32 at San Francisco Stadium.
That is why head coach Sergej Barbarez is expected to field this lineup in an attempt to pull off an upset and eliminate one of the three host nations.
POSSIBLE STARTING XI
With Nikola Vasilj in goal, Barbarez is set to line up in a 4-4-2 formation to counter Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
In defence, Tarik Muharemovic, Nikola Katic, Amar Dedic and Sead Kolasinac would start.
In midfield, Ivan Sunjic, Ivan Basic, Esmir Bajraktarevic and Amar Memic would feature.
Up front, Edin Dzeko and Ermedin Demirovic would lead the attack.
Defender Muharemović and midfielder Memić would be the main changes, replacing Stjepan Radeljić and Kerim Alajbegović, who started in the win over Qatar.
Benjamin Tahirović is expected to drop to the bench after starting in the defeat to Switzerland and the draw against Canada.
Barbarez is once again turning to veteran striker Edin Džeko, who offered more attacking impact than Jovo Lukić, the starter against Canada.
Will it be enough to end the United States’ World Cup dream?
