Barcelona Secures 3.3 Million for Its World Cup Players in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final
The blaugrana club strengthens its economy with FIFA prizes, thanks to the presence of 16 players in the World Cup and eight of them in the final
FIFA Awards, Barça among the beneficiaries
FC Barcelona will receive 3.3 million dollars for the loan of its players to the 2026 World Cup, a figure that strengthens the club's economy in the middle of the season. Although the amount is lower than that of Qatar 2022, where the prizes were higher, it is still a significant sum that demonstrates the financial impact the tournament has on the institutions. FIFA allocates these compensations as recognition to the clubs that provide players to the premier football event.
Eight culés in the final and 16 World Cup players in total
Barça was one of the teams with the greatest presence in the World Cup, with a total of 16 loaned players. Among them, Cubarsí, Eric García, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Koundé, Araújo, De Jong, and Raphinha stand out, in addition to Joan García, Joao Cancelo, Marcus Rashford, Hamza Abdelkarim, and Anthony Gordon. Eight of these footballers reached the final, which increased the final sum for the club. Even players like Roony Bardghji and Robert Lewandowski, who did not compete in the tournament, generated income by participating in the qualifying round.
Atlético surpasses Barça in New Jersey
Despite the huge sum of money Barcelona will receive, it will not be the club with the most representatives in the New Jersey final. Atlético de Madrid will have nine players between Spain and Argentina, surpassing the Blaugranas. The income that will come from FIFA can be allocated to signings, pending payments, or to bolster the club's finances, consolidating Barça as a key player not only in sports but also in the economic sphere within the World Cup stage.
