The football icon teamed up with Tom Holland for a Marvel crossover
Lionel Messi is expanding his horizons, landing in New York for a collaboration that perfectly matches what the world is experiencing right now.
Two heroes from different worlds came together to give fans a crossover between fiction and reality. At a time when the world is looking for figures who inspire hope, Messi represents exactly that. He has lifted an entire nation and, throughout the World Cup, has also become part of a tournament that continues to unite people from around the world behind the same dream.

A crossover nobody expected
The collaboration arrives during the World Cup and just ahead of one of Marvel's most anticipated releases. Two fan-favorite heroes joined forces in a project nobody saw coming but one that quickly won fans over. Seeing Messi step into a role outside football offered a different side of the Argentine legend, while also showing that even he has his own heroes. This time, he had the chance to meet one of them.
Although the promo is very short, Messi looked to enjoy every moment alongside Tom Holland, one of Marvel's biggest stars and the actor behind Spider-Man. Fittingly, what started with Messi entering a New York store looking for Spider-Man ended with him soaring across the city's skyline.
The short film opens with Holland's Peter Parker sitting quietly in a café before he is caught off guard by the arrival of the football icon. Clearly stunned, Parker stumbles over himself as he tries to approach the World Cup winner. Messi, playing a version of himself, reveals he is using a tracking device to find Spider-Man, leading Parker to suit up and take the Argentine on a high-flying adventure across New York.
Fans loved seeing a different side of Messi
The reaction to the clip has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans enjoying Messi's comedic side as he screams while swinging through the air with Spider-Man.

While the appearance is purely promotional, it has fueled speculation that the Argentine could make a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in the upcoming film. Messi looked completely at ease throughout the commercial, leaving many fans convinced that he is a genuine admirer of the Spider-Man franchise.
