Will Kylian Mbappé Miss the Rest of the Club World Cup? Real Madrid Deeply Concerned
The situation surrounding Kylian Mbappé is becoming increasingly worrying for Real Madrid, as the team navigates the group stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The French superstar has not only missed the opening match against Al Hilal, but his health condition now keeps him entirely sidelined.
Hospitalized Due to Acute Gastroenteritis
Madrid confirmed on Wednesday that Mbappé has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. The forward is currently undergoing medical tests and receiving specialized treatment.
“Our player Kylian Mbappé is experiencing an acute case of gastroenteritis and has been hospitalized to undergo medical tests and receive the appropriate treatment,” the club stated.
Already Absent Against Al Hilal
Prior to the diagnosis, Mbappé had already been ruled out of Real Madrid’s opening match on June 18 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami due to a fever. He missed the final training session and was left out of the matchday squad as a precaution.
At the time, the coaching staff—led by Xabi Alonso—hoped he would be available for later matches. However, his condition has since taken a more serious turn.

Could He Miss the Entire Tournament?
There is no official timetable for Mbappé’s return, but concern is growing within the club. If his recovery does not progress quickly, he could be ruled out for the rest of the Club World Cup.
The tournament’s tight schedule doesn’t help either—group stage matches are played with little rest in between, forcing Real Madrid to consider a conservative approach.
